Location: Novi, MI / Remote  

Reports To: Financial Controller  

We are looking for a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Bookkeeper to support our financial operations and help keep our books in impeccable shape.

POSITION SUMMARY :  

The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting day-to-day accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. This role requires someone who is highly organized, reliable, and familiar with the fast-paced nature of fintech or tech startups.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :  

• Maintain and update general ledger and financial records in accordance with GAAP 
• Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, invoices, receipts, and payments 
• Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and digital payment platforms 
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable 
• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes 
• Support payroll processing and related tax filings 
• Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets 
• Generating ad hoc rep or t s as needed by management  
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and tax preparers as needed 
• Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting processes 
• Ensure financial data integrity and maintain secure documentation 
• Utilize fintech tools and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, or similar) 

QUALIFICATIONS :  

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 
• Previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting 
• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite required; experience with integrations preferred)
• Familiarity with fintech payment platforms and APIs 
• Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy 
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
• Excellent communication and organizational skills 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE :  

• Experience in a venture-backed startup environment 
• Knowledge of crypto accounting, embedded finance, or alternative lending models 
• Familiarity with ASC 606 or ASC 842 standards 
• Exposure to financial compliance (SOX, PCI-DSS) is a plus
