We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Global Insurance & Enterprise Risk Manager to be part of a forward-thinking Finance organization that values innovation and continuous growth. You will lead CDW's global insurance program and work with the Director and VP of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) to both advance and align CDW's insurance and ERM activities. On a day-to-day basis, you will lead the analysis of risk exposures, policy renewals, budgeting, cost/coverage optimization, oversight of insurance-focused contractual reviews, coordination of claims, and a range of other activities. You will also help advance CDW's ERM program by supporting enterprise risk assessments, development of metrics, quantitative/qualitative analysis, and reporting. This position involves extensive coordination with external partners (brokers, insurers, etc.) and internal stakeholders from all CDW business areas, including senior leaders.

What you will do:

Provide end-to-end leadership of CDW's global insurance program while supporting other projects and initiatives to manage enterprise risk exposure and advance ERM maturity.

  • Program & Process Design : Formalize CDW's insurance program through defined processes with clear roles and responsibilities; continuously improve program activities to be more efficient and effective.
  • Annual Renewal : Partner with insurance broker to evaluate market trends, align on strategy, and set timelines. Manage collection, analysis, validation, and submission of risk exposure data, across all lines of coverage. Work with leaders to make decisions on coverage, costs, and carriers before binding coverage.
  • Budgeting : Maintain a comprehensive record of CDW's total cost of risk (TCR). Manage the payment of insurance invoices, including partnering with non-US teams for local payments. W0rk with other Finance teams to make payments, manage allocations/accruals, update forecasts, monitor reserves, etc.
  • Contracts Help Desk : Oversee the handling of Certificates of Insurance (COI) activities and reviews of contracts for insurance-related contractual provisions - in partnership with Legal and Sales teams.
  • Risk Monitoring: Maintain visibility into operations/risk for each coverage area. Evaluate and implement mitigation measures, including insurer recommendations. Coordinate claims for applicable loss events.
  • Enterprise Risk Assessments : Support assessments of priority enterprise risks. Partner with others to develop, implement, and monitor risk-related metrics. Contribute to reports for executives on enterprise risk exposures. Contribute to risk and insurance-related due diligence for merger and acquisition targets.
  • ERM Program Design & Improvement: Contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the frameworks and processes comprising CDW's ERM program. Drive collaboration and alignment across other CDW risk and resilience teams to optimize insurance coverage, collect data, etc.
  • Risk Appetite : Assist the Director and VP of ERM and CFO in establishing a practical approach for establishing CDW's tolerance for risk in different areas so it can be used to inform insurance coverage choices, mitigation of risks, thresholds for risk/performance metrics, and other business objectives.

What we expect of you:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, Liberal Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in corporate risk management, risk consulting, insurance company, or insurance broker. Minimum 2 years operating at a Manager level.
  • Prior experience with a corporate insurance program (including annual policy renewals) required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all insurance coverage lines including but not limited to directors and officers, property, casualty, professional liability, cyber, auto, and employer's liability.
  • Detail oriented with strong project management and prioritization skills, including the ability to manage concurrent time-sensitive tasks for annual renewals involving dozens of stakeholders/data providers.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to review, validate, synthesize, and visualize quantitative data including financial results, payroll, supply chain/inventory, property, workers comp. losses, travel costs, etc.
  • Excellent Microsoft office, Excel, Power Point, Pivot Table skills mandatory.
  • Willingness to accept tasks/new responsibilities and lend aid when needed.
  • Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) experience - including risk assessments, metrics, risk appetite - a plus.
  • Insurance designations, such as Associate in Risk Management (ARM) a plus.
  • Experience managing people, including 3rd party contractors.
  • Strategic mindset and the ability to think critically, solve problems, and drive change.
